Pedal Cars
Pedal cars are classic outdoor children’s toys. When you were a little tyke, you probably had a pedal car of your own that you scooted up and down the driveway. The pedal cars, trucks, and trains on our site are high quality, durable, and beautifully, colorfully designed. These pedal cars are instant family heirlooms that your children, grandchildren, and beyond will cherish.
Kids pedal cars have evolved over the years, unfortunately for the worse. Don’t give your children or grandchildren a cheap, plastic pedal car or pedal fire truck that has a lifespan of a minute. Instead, select a gorgeous, long-lasting kids pedal car whose design is based on American classics of the 1920s, 30s, 40s, and 50s.
We are proud to offer a pedal classics car from each name brand manufacturer, like Warehouse 36, American-Retro, C&N Reproductions, and Air Flow Collectibles. American-Retro is perhaps best known for its line of Sadface pedal cars. “Sadface” is an unusual name for kids pedal cars; toys that are supposed to bring happiness. The name stems from the shape of the grille that strongly resembles an upside-down smile. These grilles appeared on Buick and Oldsmobile cars from 1949 to 1958. If the “frowning” grille is the mouth then the two headlights are eyes, making it easy for a child to spot the “face!”
Other popular pedal cars kids love include the 1932 Flamed Roadster, the 1955 pink classic Chevy, and the 1965 Mustang. If you love the pedal cars featured on this page, be sure to check out a pedal plane or two! We’ve got great models like the Shark Attack pedal plane and the Yellow Jacket pedal plane. A Thomas the Tank Engine or Lionel pedal train are also fantastic additions to a pedal vehicle collection. Antique tricycles also tend to be a big hit, with sweeping body and guarded wheels pointing to their vintage design.
